Veterinary Surgery Technician

Join VROC as a Veterinary Surgery Technician and play a critical role in our surgical team. Manage the flow of surgeries, support surgeons, and maintain a sterile environment for complex procedures. From anesthesia setup to educating pet owners on post-operative care, you’ll be integral to providing exceptional surgical outcomes and compassionate care.

  • Manage the flow of surgeries and support our surgeons before, during and after surgical procedures to provide exceptional care to our patients. 
  • Fill the roles of Surgical, Anesthesia or Central Sterile Technician as the schedule demands.
  • Follow surgical protocols to achieve the highest standards of care and outcomes.
  • Educate pet owners on post-operative care and answer any questions they may have during discharge.
  • [Surgical Tech] Prepare the operating room with equipment and supplies, position the patient, scrub in and assist surgeons during complex surgical procedures while maintaining a sterile environment.
  • [Surgical Tech] Utilizes Ezyvet to maintain accurate and detailed patient records, and scribe surgeon dictation to author and edit surgical reports during surgery.
  • [Surgical Tech] Maintain surgical log records and ensure charges are accurate and complete.
  • [Anesthesia Tech] Setup and maintain anesthesia machines and monitors.
  • [Anesthesia Tech] Monitor anesthesia during surgery to safeguard patients and maximize comfort throughout procedures.
  • [Central Sterile Tech] Efficient cleaning of the OR after procedures, to turn over for the next case to come in. Cleaning, sterilization, and maintenance of surgical instruments and equipment to preserve a sterile environment for all procedures.
  • Calculate drug doses and log out/administer controlled substances.
  • Veterinary Technician credential (RVT, LVT, CVT) nice to have, not required.
  • Preferred 3 years of experience in a surgical setting.
  • Deep understanding of veterinary surgical procedures and protocols and an ability to handle animals with care and compassion.
  • Close attention to detail.
